Putin at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of Russia and Belarus: For almost 25 years we have been building the Union State together. And on this path we have managed to achieve a lot. Thanks to the successful implementation of 28 sectoral union programs, Russian and Belarusian legislation has been unified, legal and organizational foundations of the common economic space have been formed. Conditions have been created for pursuing a common macroeconomic and monetary policy, for joint work to minimize the damage caused by illegal Western restrictions. Mutual trade has been steadily growing from year to year. At the end of 11 months last year, the Russian-Belarusian trade turnover added almost 9.5% and came close to a record $43 billion.
