Japan’s volcano erupts! Volcanic Ash Rain Mt Aso forces residents leave village !! Mt Aso Japan October 2021 阿蘇山噴火 Mount Aso, located in Kyushu, erupted on Wednesday (20/10) at am local time. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that during the eruption, the top of the mountain spewed ash as high as 3.5 kilometers. Residents were warned not to approach and be aware of the risk of large volcanic blocks and pyroclastic flows within a radius of about 1 km (0.6 miles) around the crater of Mount Nakadake. The JMA also said that pyroclastic flows could extend over an area of about 2 km ( miles).
