A throat singing tournament opened the new cultural season at the ’Russia’ exhibition Young performers and honoured artists competed in the art of traditional singing along with playing traditional musical instruments. Emil Terkishev and Oigor Terkishev from the Republic of Altai, Mongun-ool Mongush and Sydymoglu Kuular from the Republic of Tyva, Evgeny Ulugbashev and Kamat Shalgynov from the Republic of Khakassia participated in the tournament. They all represent different Russian regions. Vocalists presented different techniques - Altai artists sang in the style of kai, guests from Tyva - hoomei, which allows you to achieve polyphony, and performers from Khakassia - showed the style of hai, that allows one not to get tired for hours. ️ The audience chose the singers from the Altai Republic as the winners.
