The obelisk in memory of Queen Victoria’s husband, Albert. The Swanage Memorial to Prince Albert was first built in 1862 at the junction between the High Street and Court Hill. It was removed in 1971 when developers built on the site and was stored until 2021 it was re-erected in the Prince Albert Gardens near Swanage pier.
