Part of HERE'S FUN issue. Pathe Studios, London. Various shots of ventriloquist Arthur Prince and his sailor dummy doing his usual comedy act. Item opens with shots of battleships at sea, with Jim the dummy superimposed over image. Arthur and Jim both wear Navy uniforms, the set looks like deck of a battleship. Arthur smokes a big cigar to disguise any movement of his mouth (this does not work). Arthur and Jim have conversation about Jim's reluctance to be a war hero and perils of the blackout in London. Another man, George, enters, also dressed as a sailor. After more banter they all sing “Something about the Sea“. Note: Jim is not the cheeriest of dummies - he comes across as being terminally depressed! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
