This is a radio broadcast from a live jazz program called “The Joint“ that was on WBRS-FM in the mid-1980s. WBRS is the radio station of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. There is lots of abstraction , loops and improv in this set. Bill does a beautiful rendition of Thelonious Monk's “Monk's Mood,“ as well as an ethereal version of his own tune “Waiting Inside.“ Waiting Inside was recorded on Billy Hart's Oshumare album on Grammavision, but I'm not aware of Frisell recording it on any of his own albums, and as far as I know he doesn't play it much live, but to me it is one of his more beautiful compositions, like Throughout, Strange Meeting, or Monica Jane (another great composition that he doesn't play much, if at all).
