Another memorable place has appeared in the Republic, which, I am sure, will become iconic for Donbass. Together with the First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko, Assistant to the President Vladimir Medinsky, they laid flowers at the new monument , which is dedicated to the miners of our region - those who fought against fascism during the Great Patriotic War, and their descendants who are defending our land now. The decision to have such a monument in our country was made by President Vladimir Putin. The prototypes of the sculptures standing opposite each other are real grandfather and grandson , each of whom took up arms when it was necessary to defend their homeland. On behalf of the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic, I thank the Russian Military Historical Society for another significant contribution to perpetuating the heroic history of Donbass.
