Mantaray Island is in the Yasawa chain off the coast of Fiji's largest island. During the Manta season, (May-Sept.) it has Manta Rays feeding in a nearby channel. One of the best features of this resort is the awesome house reef right offshore. The current that supplies the manta feeding channel first flows over Mantaray's house reef, so this abundance of plankton fuels a rich coral growth, and an enormous and diverse fish population. That makes this a perfect destination for divers, and especially snorkeling enthusiasts who are always looking for the calm, shallow, pristine reef conditions that can be reached right from the beach. Their reef is a protected sanctuary, and has been for over 30 years, so the fish population is incredible. This video is the first of the immersion series for this reef, and more will follow.
