It was during my recent recovery from five broken ribs that I finally found time enough to watch this haunting (but at times slow-moving), 10-part Epix-TV mini-series from 2018. Based on a novel of the same by Swiss writer Joël Dicker, it follows Marcus Goldman, “a successful young novelist who needs inspiration for his next book. Marcus heads to New Hampshire to stay with his college professor, Harry Quebert, to focus on his writing. When the body of 15-year-old Nola Kellergan is found 33 years after she went missing and Quebert is accused of her murder, Marcus works to uncover the truth. The result of his investigation becomes his next book.” The small-screen adaptation stars Patrick Dempsey as Harry Quebert, with Ben Schnetzer as Marcus Goldman. Kristine Froseth plays the seemingly innocent but ill-fated Nola Kellergan. To learn more, click here:
