Hong Kong Record Deluge Kills 2, Sweeps Shenzhen The heaviest rainfall in 140 years in Hong Kong has left two people dead, injured at least 83 more, and completely submerged entire streets and subways. The torrential downpours have come from Typhoon Haikui that initially made landfall in China’s Fujian province earlier this week. Hong Kong authorities have issued their highest “black” rainstorm warning after almost 8 inches of rain fell on the city’s main island, while schools and the stock exchange closed with workers urged to stay at home.
