Breaking your favourite rod should not really be the end of its life and as rod manufacturers tend to discontinue rods like they are fashion not tools, repairing is a great alternative to the bin. I keep a little store of salvaged rods to reuse them to repair others and this case the rod wasn't actually mine, it was repaired for charity that takes people who need a bit of R&R out into the great outdoors the best medicine. tools and materials salvaged donor fishing rod to make the new joint, you can get bits on ebay but i have my own collection resin: for the glue up I used PRO-Glu rod building expoy, but 30 min epoxy works well Thread: black nylon grade A, Fuji metalic sliver Coating resin: three coats of Threadmaster rod finish epoxy Turning motor; Converted microwave turntable motor bought from ebay
