EIGHT men have been sentenced after going on the rampage in a Bury pub. The following pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Bolton Crown Court. At about on Saturday November 13, fights broke out in two areas of Yates’ Wine Lodge in Bury. Up to 20 people were involved. There was a disturbance at the entrance of the pub and inside the bar area. A chair was thrown at one of the men, hitting him in the back, and a bottle was thrown at someone else. At one point a man had his head stamped on. Punches and kicks were thrown at will in front of bystanders in the pub. The melee lasted for two minutes. By the time the police arrived the disturbance had dispersed, but officers were able to trace offenders after witnesses pointed Patrick Lowe to them. No serious injuries were reported.
