The film stars veteran TV and feature film actor Dennis Weaver, who warns a group of kids about the dangers of using matches and playing with fire. At 8:19, the film apparently shows the actual orphaned bear cub that was named “Smokey“ by his Forest Service rescuers (see explanation below). At 8:20 the bear is shown at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. At 9:50 the kids in the film show how to smother fires, crush matches, and warn again about the dangers of playing with matches.
