Exploring Son Doong cave in Vietnam. This is my first video from the series of exploring the world with camera. Subscribe for more, new video every week! Special thanks to Oxalis for the unforgettable adventure and for some of the footage. Some interesting facts about the cave: 1. Son Doong Cave is the world’s largest cave, measuring an incredible 5 kilometers long and reaching up to 200 meters tall. Some spot even 300 m from lower levels. 2. The cave was accidentally discovered in 1991 by a local farmer named Ho Khanh. 3. The name Son Doong is derived from the Vietnamese words “Sơn” (mountain) and “đoòng” (cave). So it's literally a Mountain cave :) 4. The cave is home to its own ecosystem, complete with its own climate, jungle, and rivers. 5. The cave is so large that it’s estimated to contain enough space to fit an entire New York City block. 6. The cave contains the world’s largest stalagmite, which is estimated to be over 70 meters tall. 7. For safety reasons, visitors are only allowed to explore the cave with a professional guide under Oxalis company. 8. Son Doong Cave is one of the few places in the world where you can experience total darkness.
