Tom Thumb: Part 1 (Английские сказки - сказки на английском языке) (Stories for learning English)

Learn English with Mr Joe🤠!!! This channel is dedicated to bringing traditional stories (folk tales) to life🌞! I use stories📖, music🎶, and animation💃🕺 to make learning English fun. Each video is designed to be an ‘English Learning Resource’ for students at the Intermediate (B1) level. The videos contain unusual vocabulary (with pictures), and comprehension questions (at the end) 👍. Folk tales or traditional stories are always interesting- this is why folk (people) continued to pass them on from generation-to-generation👨‍👩‍👧‍👧! They are often about nature🐍, magic🧙, and adventure⚔. They also usually contain a moral message (such as ‘work hard’ or ‘be truthful’). ========================= About me: My name is Mr Joe. I am a multi-instrumentalist🎸 English teacher and World traveller🌍. I have over 5 years’ experience teaching English in Italy, Russia, Montenegro with students from all over the World. ========================= Music: Throughout my career, I have always used music🎶 to engage learning. I have found that there are many advantages to using Music to aid learning and that scientific👩‍🔬 research backs this up. For example, melody has been proven to improve memory of ordered words such as sentence structures (Wallace, 1994). Music also creates a comfortable atmosphere which helps students in acquiring a second language (Krashen, 1982). ========================= My hopes: I hope that through my channel English learners will be inspired in their journey🚣 towards fluency. I hope that they will become interested in the stories of different cultures and that they are inspired to see people’s diversity AND universality. I believe that if a person feels confident😁 in their ability to communicate using English -which is, after all, the World’s language- then they will feel more empowered💪 to achieve their dreams and goals.
