Not long ago there were a lot of Ikarus buses in Russia. Even in Moscow, they could be found every day till 2014. Now buses of this brand have become a rarity. There are less than 10 cities left in Russia where they carry passengers. One of these cities is Kursk, where there are about 10 different Ikarus buses. Most of them only operate in summer on commuter routes. Ikarus buses - is good. But Kursk itself looks more like a village built up with ugly shopping centers, then a city with almost 1000 years of history at 500 km from Moscow. The city is abandoned, and the leadership does not care about it. Trams, trolleybuses, buses - all this is a rarity for local residents. During my stay in the city I saw only one tram, two trolleybuses, and of the large buses - only “Ikarus“. Residents of the city are provided with minibuses, underpasses with many stairs, awful tram rails and broken sidewalks.
