Bees are steady, determined, and focused, a sign of a healthy and harmonious world. This cute little bee found his way among the rosemary and sage on this ceramic jewelry dish. The imprints are all made from real leaves as you can see. My ceramic pieces not only celebrate nature, I try to capture its beauty and textures in clay. After real leaves are pressed in soft clay, I bisque fire the dish, add glazes, and then fire the piece to 2200 degrees F in my kiln to give the beautiful glossy glazed finish of a high fire ceramic. I add real gold accents to the ceramic dish in a special process that requires a third firing in the kiln.
