Farewell of Slavianka (Russian: Прощание славянки – Proshchaniye slavyanki) is a Russian patriotic march, written by the composer Vasily Agapkin in honour of the Slavic women accompanying their husbands in the First Balkan War.[1] The march was written and premiered in Tambov in the end of 1912. In summer of 1915 it was released as a gramophone single in Kiev. Slavyanka means “Slavic woman“. Dina Fagimovna Garipova (Russian: Дина Фагимовна Гарипова, Tatar: Динә Фәһим кызы Гарипова; born 25 March 1991) is a Russian singer. In 2012, Garipova won the Russian version of singing competition The Voice, Golos.[1] Garipova was selected by the Russian broadcaster Channel One to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song “What If“.
