The most popular president in the history of the US (if vote counts are to be believed) is dropping aid somewhere, but he’s not sure where. During a meeting with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni last week, not even Biden’s trusty cheat sheet could save him. Somehow, Joe managed to fluff his lines while reading them directly from a card. That’s quite a skill, actually. Halfway through a sleepy, rambling fireside monologue, Biden twice talked about partnering with ‘our friends in Jordan and others’ to ‘airdrop supplies in Ukraine,’ and attempting to ‘open up other avenues into Ukraine.’ He meant Gaza, but it’s not like it’s important for someone doing his job to know the difference. Credit to Meloni here, who managed to sit and pay attention to this word salad, with nothing but a knowing smile to someone off camera to suggest she was regretting leaving her house that morning.
