Carl Nielsen - Overture to the opera Maskarade

This is the 1906 overture to the comic opera “Maskarade“ by Danish composer Carl Nielsen (1865-1931). The opera libretto was written by Vilhelm Andersen, based on the comedy by Ludvig Holberg. In Denmark, this opera achieved such success that it is often considered the country’s national opera. Conductor: Ulf Schirmer Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra
