A drink driver could not even string a sentence together when he was stopped by police following a serious crash in South Yorkshire. John Duckworth, 46, couldn’t articulate a sentence when police were called to a three-vehicle crash in Bawtry Road, Rotherham on 6 September. Duckworth, of Harmony Way, failed to stop at a busy junction, causing a three car crash and seriously injuring an elderly woman. Duckworth,was spoken to by officers at the scene and witnessed to be slurring his words and slumped over the steering wheel. He was breathalysed and blew a sample of 180, with the legal limit for alcohol being 35.
