Have you tried the Rice Stitch? This gorgeous, beginner friendly crochet stitch has a wonderful texture that makes this stitch great for crocheting bags, scarves, hats, bags.. and so many other crochet projects. This beautiful stitch combines front post and back post double crochet stitches, giving a really delicate texture to your crocheted projects! How to: start by chaining an odd number of stitches. Starting in the third chain from the hook, work one double crochet (US terms - in UK terms this is a treble crochet). Repeat to end of row. Chain 1, and turn. For row 2, and for as many rows as desired, start with one half double crochet (half treble in UK terms). Then alternate one front post double crochet, one back post treble crochet across the row (front post/back post trebles in UK terms). End each row with a front post double crochet then one half double crochet into the last stitch. Watch how to crochet the rice stitch in rows here: Left handed?
