Ukrainian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 from Ukraine. The song 1944 describes the period of forced migration of Tatar people who resided in Crimea. The Soviet government ordered all Crimean Tatars to move to Eastern parts of the USSR including Siberia. Those who were against were killed or sent to prisons.
