The experience ended with the traditional Hongi greeting (touching of noses). Ngāti Whātua’s haka was performed by Eru Rarere-Wilton’s group KaiHaka and supported by local stage technician crews Evitan and Kiwi Krew. Ngāti Whātua is a local Auckland tribe who work throughout Auckland advocating for environmentally sustainable practices, cultural heritage protection and the recognition and use of native biodiversity.
