The history of Japanese reggae is a very interesting and diverse one; this is just a part of the bigger picture. We are releasing a vinyl compilation titled “Tokyo Riddim 1976-1985“ on 6th Oct 2023, centered around the same concept. The album launch listening session will take place at Total Refreshment Centre on 8th Oct. This session will include a talk titled “The Brief History of Japanese Reggae“ and an interview with one of the featured artists, Izumi “Mimi“ Kobayashi.
