evacuations, curfews and riots are likely in parts of Libya's northeastern coast amid predicted adverse weather conditions. Severe storms and winds are expected to affect Benghazi, Al Marj, Al Bayda, Derna, Tobruk and Shahat as Mediterranean storm Danielle approaches the area. The Regional Arab Meteorological Center said wind speeds of up to 85 km/h (53 mph), rainfall of 5-25 cm (2-9 inches) and waves 2-4 m (6-13 feet) high are likely at least on September 10: the storm is moving westward into Egypt. Derna municipal authorities imposed a curfew from 22:00 on September 9 and ordered the evacuation of several areas including Al Jubaila, Al Bilad and other coastal localities as a precautionary measure.
