On July 28, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Vietnam. The epicenter was at a depth of 4 km, 53 km from the city of Kon Tum. The tremors occurred at 11:35 local time. The tremors were felt in parts of central Vietnam and southern Laos. Eyewitnesses shared footage of the natural disaster on social media. Furniture shook in houses, objects fell from shelves. Some residents left their homes and workplaces. There were no initial reports of damage or casualties.
