Earlier today, I was honored to join our hard-working LASHQ employees and their families to celebrate the Sheriff’s Relief Association's 100th Anniversary at Dodger Stadium. The Sheriffs’ Relief Association was organized in March 1924 by Sheriff Eugene Biscailuz as the benevolent arm of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. For 100 years, the Sheriff’s Relief Association’s primary purpose has been to address the needs of Department members during individual times of family crisis. It has since expanded its role to provide various additional services to its sworn and civilian members. The Sheriffs’ Relief Association provides service and support to over 20,000 sworn and civilian and active and retired members. Thank you to the Sheriff’s Relief Association members for putting this event together, and I also extend a thank you to the Dodgers organization for being a great host. -Sheriff Robert Luna Source: Police frequency
