mash-up of what almost was a Sex Pistols record. Jan 14 2:00 pm The Pistols are in San Francisco about to perform their last show at the Wonderland Arena. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious are unknowingly giving their last interview together for KSAN radio. Sid makes note of a new song “about God“. Hours later the Sex Pistols split up for almost 20 years. No more new material was ever recorded by Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook, Glen Matlock or Sid Vicious as a group. The song “about God“ is released as “Religion“ on John Lydon's 1st Public Image LTD LP with no music. Steve Jones and Paul Cook as the Professionals issue a rare instrumental B-Side titled “Action Man“. “The Sermon - Sod In Heaven“ incorporates both recordings plus a bass line intro from “Marching Men“ by Glen Matlock's first Rich Kids LP. “Sod In Heaven“ with it's blasphemist words and blistering guitar would have made another great and banned recording for the Sex Pistols had it been released in 1978. This mash up brings together Johnny “Rotten“ Lydon(Public Image Limited-Religion 1978) Steve Jones (Professionals-Action Man 1980) Paul Cook (Professionals-Action Man 1980) Glen Matlock (Rich Kids-Marching Men 1978)
