Riders on Stage 6 of the Absa Cape Epic enjoyed a cool morning in Stellenbosch, a welcome change from the blistering temperatures of the week. The 87km route featured 2400 metres of climbing and some of the spectacular singletrack trails from the Winelands trail network in the greater Stellenbosch area. The penultimate stage of the Untamed African MTB Race passed through Muratie Wine Estate twice before heading for Stellenbosch along Morgenhof’s singletrack, with the Idas Valley trails providing a treat before the final test up the Botmaskop. The stage was filled with drama throughout the field with countless crashes and punctures, those who managed their efforts best were the most successful on the day.
