For this reason many have either given up on trying to keep them or avoided them altogether. I've certainly had issues with them and have kept nearly every kind that is available including venustus (Nimbochromis venustus), livingstonii (Nimbochromis livingstonii), polystigma (Nimbochromis polystigma), linni (Nimbochromis linni) and the “fusco“ (Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus). You might ask, “Why try to keep these notorious fish in one tank?“ Here's why: Because they are spectacular with beautiful colors, distinctive markings and usually have a great interactive personality! In my years of trying to get them to live together I've come up with 5 tips that might help with keeping them all in the same tank without having them constantly trying to kill each other. For the first time in many years I have a relatively peaceful African Cichlid tank which includes three Nimbochromis, contrary to their reputation. Take a look at these tips and let me know what you think in the comments below. Do you keep several Nimbochromis in the same tank? How have you managed to do that?
