The rescuers arrive at the pass, but having missed a road sign, are unsure. Chris is sent to ask some rock climbers if this is the Edelweiss Pass. The villains, not wanting to be observed, tell him that he has missed it and must go back. They reverse away and the villains start to dig up an enormous rock. Still reversing they notice the “Edelweiss“ they had missed before. They realise that the climbers are “in the plot“ and drive forward again. Up the mountain drives the MG, and behind them the rally driving villains. The “rock climbers“ see them coming and prepare to roll a rock down. Chris and the eccentric arrive just as the MG is about to reach the pass. The plan is foiled and one rock climber watching through binoculars accidentally dislodges a large rock. It rolls down the mountain side, the MG passes safely, but the rock hits the villains driving behind.
