Ready to Play is it Fake? Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy, “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made,” on Disney follows the exploits of a quirky, deadpan hero, Timmy Failure, and his 1,500-pound polar bear partner Total. The process of creating a photo-realistic bear involves different skill sets and artists, starting with the Capture Lab team who found ‘their’ polar bear in Inukshuk, a characterful, 15-year-old male from Ontario’s Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat. Capturing hours of footage and photos, these were passed onto the modelling team, who had begun building anatomically accurate skeletal structures following their visit to the Natural Heritage Camps in Gatineau, Quebec, and our animation team to ensure they had an encyclopaedic understanding of bear behaviour. Win or lose we hope you are impressed by the work of many different artists and skills bringing these scenes to life. From riggers, groom, lighting, simulations and animators to compositors, producers, environment, paint & roto artists and many others collaborating with other film crafts to realise a director’s vision. Head to our channel to see behind the VFX on some of the biggest films, TV shows and commercials. #VFX #isitfake #vfxbyframestore #TimmyFailure #cgi
