Listen/Order: Dear friends, here is the second single from Supersonic Revolution! My guess is that a lot of people will think this lyric is about David Bowie. But they would only be partly right… it is actually about his fictional character Ziggy Stardust. Ziggy was an alien character that Bowie created back in the early 70s with his album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’. I have to admit that I never really understood the deeper meaning behind this concept album, but I did my best to give it my own spin here! Alien creatures land on Earth with a mission to set the children free. The aliens only have 5 years to do this, but they fail hopelessly. Ziggy dies on stage. But… Bowie lived on, and how! Very curious to read what you think of this one... enjoy and thanks in advance! Arjen. #arjenlucassen #supersonicrevolution Lyrics: As if out of nowhere they fell to earth Space invaders on a quest to save the world We’ve got five years of pain until we die Only five years remain, what a surprise You and me, right here for all to see The rise of the Starman He will bring salvation, saw in a dream He’ll convey a message of hope and relief Only five years are left before our fall A lousy five years at best, that’s all we’ve got You and me, one day he’ll set us free The rise of the Starman And then out of nowhere he set the world on fire This cosmic messenger of dreams blew our minds He’s got five years of fame before he dies Only five years remain, what a surprise You and I, we will never ever die The rise of the Starman As the kids were cheering he paid the price of fame On his final night he gave it all and died on stage Only five years were left before he fell A lousy five years at best, inside this hell You and I, saw him waiting in the sky The rise and fall of the Starman
