(Turn on Youtube subtitles for English subtitles) “Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau“ is the national anthem of Wales. The title, taken from the first words of the song, means “Old Land of My Fathers“ in Welsh, usually rendered in English as simply “Land of My Fathers“. The words were written by Evan James and the tune composed by his son, James James, both residents of Pontypridd, Glamorgan, in January 1856. The earliest written copy survives and is part of the collections of the National Library of Wales. Selon la tradition, il aurait été écrit par Evan James (1809—1878) et composé par son fils James James (1833—1902) en janvier 1856. L'hymne breton Bro gozh ma zadoù et l'hymne cornouaillais Bro Goth Agan Tasow se chantent sur le même air et comportent de nombreuses similarités dans les paroles. CYMRAEG : Anthem genedlaethol Cymru yw Hen Wlad fy Nhadau. Ysgrifenwyd y geiriau gan Evan James (1809-1878), a chyfansoddwyd y dôn gan ei fab James James (1833-1902) ym mis Ionawr 1856. Roedd y ddau yn drigolion o Bontypridd. Gwehydd a bardd oedd y mab, a thelynor oedd y tad.
