It's time to showcase some female accordion talent. This is Canada's 1st &, I believe, only world accordion champion. Iona Reed-Pukara won the coveted prize in Prague in 1962. She played a Titano(Victoria) standard converter free-bass accordion & it's easy to figure out how she won it. Her bold “crackling“ technique is wonderfully suited to Liszt's highly virtuosic style of composition. Her teacher, the late Karl Pukara, thought so highly of Iona that he ended up marrying her.
