For the original recording David Gilmour used a 1955 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top guitar equipped with P-90 pick-ups played directly into the mixing desk and then gated and compressed the signal, before running it back out again and into a Mesa Boogie Mark I Amplifier which was miced up and recorded The guitar used for this cover is an exact replica of this guitar made by Gibson in the USA.
