She's done!! I'm alive, celebrations! I genuinely loved every moment of creating this pmv and I think that shines through in the finished result, because I don't think I could be happier with it! (Although I was a little burnt out making the intro, rip) I knew I'd wanted to make a pmv with this song/concept for a while, although it took some consideration to choose characters for it and fully commit to the idea; some initial ideas were Leafpool/Mothwing or even Leopardstar/Willowpelt but I'm happy with my choice. I really liked the two narratives happening simultaneously in the song, the past romance in the main lyrics while war slowly brews in the background, until it's impossible to ignore and too late to stop. The intention of the original song is that it describes a list of impossible tasks set for an ex lover in order for them to reconcile, but I like the idea that it describes how seperated by circumstance both are, unable to reconcile if they wanted. Crookedstar and Bluestar felt like good choices to fit this, since both characters are so frequently stuck between love and clan loyalty. After their relationship crumbles at the end of the song they each become leaders and continue the traditions of war, hurting the next generation of cross clan lovers just as they once were. I found a lot of inspiration from other medieval themed warrior cats works, particularly a series of projects from @mouldypaw who is the ceo of medieval Bluestar. I encourage you to check out their projects: As well as some lovely maps: Some context for the intro, as I wasn't sure it was entirely clear; Crookedstar witnesses Silverstream (as well as his two unknown kits Mistywood and Stonepath) on her way out to meet Greystripe on the border which prompts him to recall his past cross clan relationship which ended on poor terms. If your curious as to what happens afterwards in the au it's fairly adjacent to canon: Bluefur has her litter of Misty, Moss and Stone who are taken to Riverclan. Mosskit dies and Misty/Stone are raised by Oakheart and Greypool (who had recently lost their kits). After some time Silverkit is born to Willowbreeze with Crookedstar as a surrogate father who steps in to raise Silver after Willowbreeze dies. Crookedstar becomes a more closed and distrusting person after Bluestar breaks it off, largely due to Mapleshade's manipulation, while Bluestar assumes he moves on after he has kits to a Riverclan queen (not realising he was just a surrogate for a friend). He only begins to open up clan relations again after efforts from Fireheart and Greystripe long afterwards, at which point Bluestar's own mental health has begun to decline. It's all very unfortunate, rip.
