Alondra de la Parra in a spontaneous marimba session with Johan Bridger and Patrick Raab. During rehearsals for a concert with the Swedish Radio Orchestra in Stockholm, percussion soloists Johan Bridger and Patrick Raab taught her to play the marimba. It’s hard to believe but Alondra plays - almost - flawlessly! The three master musicians also had a lot of fun with their little jam session! Alondra de le Parra is a Mexican conductor. She was born in New York and raised in Mexico. She started her piano studies at age seven. Alondra de la Parra got her musical education in Mexico City and New York. In 2015, she became the music director of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Australia. She was the first female principal conductor of an Australian symphony orchestra.
