#DiscoverDPR Visit the National Nature Park “Meotida“ ? This is a unique place in the southwest of the DPR. The history of this protected area dates back about 100 years. This territory includes steppe areas, the coast, and the water area of the Sea of Azov, as well as wetlands of international importance. ️ “Meotida“ is a nature reserve with a territory exceeding 30,000 hectares. It is structurally divided into three departments: the Lukomorye Department, the Belosarayskoye Department, and the Polovtsian Steppe Department. Each site boasts unique landscapes and attractions. Another cultural attraction is the Belosarai Lighthouse, which is the oldest lighthouse on the Azov coast, founded in 1811. The height is 22 meters. The light signal extends for 14 miles. Later, some metal structures for the lighthouse were developed and manufactured by Gustave Eiffel’s design studio. Source: DPR MFA
