Donald Trump was the target of a suspected second assassination attempt on Sunday, the FBI have said. The former president, 78, was safe following the incident at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, his campaign confirmed. A Secret Service agent one hole ahead of Trump spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of a fence and “immediately engaged” the gunman, said Ric Bradshaw, the Palm Beach County Sheriff. The suspect, who was equipped with an assault-style AK-47 rifle with a scope, two backpacks and a GoPro, fled in a black Nissan. A suspect was later detained 50 miles away.
