Buddy thought he had the flu, and put off going to the doctor. The doctors said that in its early stages, the infection could have been resolved with a simple dose of penicillin. The infection led to septic shock and organ failure, resulting in the amputation of both feet and hands. Throughout the ordeal, doctors and family say he remained upbeat throughout.
