Titles read: 'And now PATHETONE WEEKLY presents:- Sam Mayo - the famous “Whispering Whatnot“.' Pathe Studio, London. Sam Mayo sits at the piano and sings a song about his “she-cat“ who loves the tom cat next door. One day another tom comes into the house, chases the she-cat, corners her and while she cries for her lover, the tom says “Though you belong to somebody else, tonight you belong to me“. Saucy! When he finishes, he announces he is now going to sing a song about a pound note, as he pins one to the music stand. He then sings to the pound note, declaring his love for it. He does not want to part but he may have to. He then sings of all the people he owes money to. There is a pause as he moves, with the pound note, to a table and sits. He continues to serenade the money, telling of how everybody, everywhere, wants it. He rapidly lists a very large number of British towns and cities. This is duplicate of item in Pathetone PT 078 - see separate record for details. FILM ID:
