The Hawkbirds covering the Ramones track, “I Just Want To Have Something To Do”, with Sunflower on bass, more than 3 years after first posting this song on July 5, 2021.... The song, written by Joey Ramone, is the first track on the 1978 album “Road To Ruin”. Even though this track was written with a slower tempo than most Ramones songs, the arrangement exhibits the same level of unstoppable energy, with a building composition that demonstrates a palpable frustration, as Joey describes his desire to get out and be with someone. 🎶 Hanging out all by myself, I don't want to be with anybody else. I just want to be with you, I just want to have something to do… tonight! 🎶 This cover was recorded on 07/07/24 in our basement studio, on 6 separate tracks (vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar, bass drum, toms/snare, and cymbals) using a Zoom H6 audio interface, and mixed with GarageBand. Not only is the sound much better than the iPhone
