Released on the market from 1990 to 2004. The brand was originally introduced with an arcade system, the Neo Geo MVS, and its home console counterpart, the Neo Geo AES. Both the arcade system and the console were extraordinarily powerful for the time, and the AES was capable of a complete compatibility of games released for the MVS. However, the high price of the SNK systems prevented it from competing directly with its contemporaries, the Sega Genesis, the Super NES and the Turbo-Grafx 16.
