On January 24, FedEx driver D’Monterrio Gibson was shot at while working in Brookhaven, Mississippi. The shooter and his son, who chased Gibson, were charged with assault and conspiracy, but swiftly bailed out and face no attempted murder charges. On Saturday, the “New Black Panther Party,“ “Original Black Panthers“ and the Elmer “Geronimo” Pratt Gun Club armed up to visit the District Attorney's office and the police station to advocate upgrading the charges and were denied meetings at both. Gibson then returned to the scene of the shooting, where he told his story surrounded by armed supporters and called for justice.
