Video footage rleased by the Swedish Ministry of Defence shows Swedish Soldiers during combat operations in Afghanistan including one firefight with the support of an B-1 Lancer bomber conducting an airstrike on a Taliban position in the mountains. In the end of the video the Swedish soldiers are seen showing off their “battle scars“ to each other. Sweden contributed to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2014. When ISAF became the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in 2015, Sweden was involved from the start until the end of May 2021, when the last Swedish troops left the country. Since 25 May 2021, there has been no Swedish military presence in Afghanistan.
