How To Punch While Moving Forward & Backward - 14 Step Drill. Tom Yankello of the @World Class Boxing Channel presents to you a padwork and footwork drill teaches you how to punch while moving forward and backward. This 14 step drill incorporates two blocks and a weave. Tom teaches you how to work these punches that you are doing in the drill on the move. Tom teaches you how to step and punch forward and then how to step and punch moving backwards. This is a great footwork drill and Tom shows you the proper placement of your feet for when the punches land. Tom breaks down this 14-step drill for you to work on whether you are at home or in the gym. When you work this drill with blocks, Tom wants you to understand when you block a punch, the punch will recoil quicker than if you rolled. Tom teaches you to block so you can walk the man down. He also teaches you how every punch lands when the foot lands. This is a great drill to practice punching on the move and when you are punching backwards, you can still have tremendous punching power and still knock someone out because of the synchronizing of your feet and punches.
