Footage from the annual ’baby jumping’ competition ’El Colacho’, which takes place in the small village of Castrillo de Murcia, near Burgos, in Northern Spain. Every June, men dressed as devils chase villagers with a whip then leap over newborn babies - all in an attempt to drive away evil. It is part of the festival El Salto del Colacho and is a tradition that has been ongoing since 1620. Some Catholics believe the devils drive away evil though it is said the Pope has distanced himself from this dangerous religious festival.
