Full title reads: “London. The Lord Mayor of London - lays the foundation stone of new GPO Telephone building to be World's largest - & where you will be able to 'phone any part of the World.“ London. Lord Mayor of London, in his full ceremonial regalia, inspects line of troops with rifles shouldered. The Mayor, preceded by man bearing mace and man bearing sword, walks up steps. He lays the foundation stone of the General Post Office telephone building. Another man taps the stone into place with a mallet. One tap in each corner. He passes the mallet to the Lord Mayor who also taps the stone and says “I declare this stone well and truly laid“. C/U inscription on the stone 'This stone was laid by The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of London Sir Maurice Jenks on the 10th of February 1932“. There is the sound of a quick round of applause.
